Managing Surgical Supply Expense: Engagement at All Levels and Using Data Effectively
Vanderbilt University is a large, complex academic medical center performing more than 56,000 procedures per year. Recent efforts to increase transparency and engagement among staff and faculty have led to a supply cost reduction, with more than half of surgical cases at or below prior-year costs. This has been a multidisciplinary project involving everything from low-tech methods to custom informatics applications. In this webinar, you’ll learn about the processes we used to achieve our savings, including development of an off-site case cart operations center and a detailed custom pack review.
As a participant, you will be able to:
• Share and understand process improvements implemented for supply chain cost and utilization.
• Share and understand examples of tools/applications/systems used for this project.
• Share and understand practices for improving engagement of staff and faculty.
