Change Management Strategies: Improving Handoffs from OR to PACU

The passing of patient information is vital to the success of surgical outcomes. In today’s fast-paced environment, communication between different healthcare providers can greatly influence the overall quality and safety of perioperative care. This webinar will explore the effects of a new way of communicating about the patient and the need to perform handoffs in a consistent manner between the OR and PACU.

Objectives

After completion of this continuing nursing education activity, participants will be able to:

  • Identify principles of change.
  • Discuss the core elements of handoffs from OR to PACU.
  • Review specific patient information communicated in the handoff.
