In ORs across the country, perioperative personnel are tasked with doing more with less resources. To stay competitive and effective, today’s OR leadership and staff must identify and adopt protocols, processes, and parameters that improve overall efficiencies every day in every OR. Simple yet strategic modifications can yield significant improvement and translate into real time savings for every case. Dr. Ravi Munver is a urologist who has systematically documented and tracked his OR efficiencies and time savings. During this webinar, he will share his published data on how he and his staff at Hackensack University Medical Center have created identifiable and reproduceable efficiencies in the OR. Notably, attendees will understand how OR delays associated with full-time use of reusable ureteroscopes can be minimized by selectively utilizing a single-use ureteroscope.
- Describe ways to improve OR efficiencies related to a surgeon’s perspective.
- Identify processes that can be modified or changed to improve overall OR efficiencies.
- Discuss the practical example of how one hospital adopted a “selective utilizing” approach with disposable ureteroscopes to dramatically improve overall surgery times.
