Brian Watha, Associate Vice President at Surgical Directions, has extensive experience in OR process improvement, business intelligence, and quaternary medical center perioperative services, where he has been responsible for all end-to-end OR processes as the Principal Management Engineer. He is familiar with multiple OR information technology platforms and is an expert at electronic medical record migrations. Brian has a Master of Health Service Administration degree from the University of Michigan, and completed a one-year Executive Administrative Fellowship at Health Alliance Plan. He serves as a graduate mentor at the University of Michigan School of Public Health, and he helps teach a biotech-startup course at the Ross School of Business. He also has a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt.
Michael Besedick, Business Consultant, Surgical Directions
Michael Besedick is a Business Consultant for Surgical Directions, and manages analytics projects that reduce costs, drive revenue, and increase ROI for healthcare clients. His specialties include analytics research, implementation, and strategy. He is experienced in advanced predictive analytics, data visualization, and machine learning. By clearly communicating complex concepts, he has helped hospital leaders make confident, data-supported decisions. Michael has a Master of Science in Analytics degree from the University of Chicago, and he is a summa cum laude graduate of Florida State University, where he earned his BS degree in chemistry with a minor in mathematics and was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Honors Society.
